Hey folks-
What better way to celebrate our freedom this 4th of July than to thank a soldier overseas?
Have we not all thought of doing it?
In this day and age of drugs and violence, of grandparents becoming the primary caregivers of their grandchildren.. of lost personal integrity, and guns on the playground.. our children need not only morally sound role models, but strong, old fashioned American family values.
Let's start a new holiday tradition today.
As we light the sparklers and grill the hot dogs, as we fly the flag and celebrate our Independence, let's also sit down with our kids and write a soldier.
Just as you want your child to know that Christmas isn't just about the presents, don't you want them to know that freedom isn't really free?
We are all saying that kids today have no manners, no respect.. as we try to instill in our kids and the children around us the knowledge to tell right from wrong, to say 'yes sir' and 'no ma'am', isn't it just as important that they understand and appreciate the GIFT of a soldier? Why not 'Thank You!'
If you are one of the lucky ones whom God has put in a position to be around many children- mentor, day care, Sunday School- what better opportunity than this, to teach a valuable lesson!
Do it for the adult your child will become.. and the tradition that will be passed down to your grandchildren.
Do it for yourself- to know that you are STILL doing everything you can to make sure your kids grow up to be good American citizens.
Do it for that man in uniform.. the one willing to take a bullet for you.
